About Chef


Chef George has been watching and helping his dad also a former chef in the kitchen ever since he was 4 years old. He started working in the restaurant business and has worked his way up ever since he was in high school. In 2006 after being honorably discharged from the United States Marines Corps as a field radio operator at the young age of 24, Chef George along with his 2 sisters took their savings and became the owners of Port Thai Place. Chef George is from Queens, New York born and raised. But he has spent some time traveling and learning throughout the world and spent some time specifically in various regions in Thailand to learn and master specific authentic Thai dishes which he loves and hand selects to put on his menu at Port Thai Place.

Chef George considers himself a self taught and hard working chef. He brings dedication, passion and discipline to his kitchen which is reflected in his dishes. His drive to make mouth watering (delicious) food comes from a love to eat which he shares with his family. This quality helps allow him to make delectable authentic Thai cuisine for his family and friends to enjoy. He is inspired by the authentic, flavorful taste and aroma of Thai cuisine but loves to utilize the convenience of a modern kitchen to make his dishes from scratch. He hopes to inspire the next generation of young Thai chefs to keep Thai dishes authentic in order to preserve Thai culture and cooking .
